The Wedding and The Roloffs

I got married to my friend Tim, whom, in real life, is a friend of mine that I used to bicycle with. On our wedding night we were in his apartment on his bed and we were looking at receipts. He wouldn't consummate the marriage for some reason. Tim Daly, my ex, was in the apartment too, as well as some girl. We were all good friends. Tim Daly was mad that I got married to my friend Tim and he wanted me for himself. We were supposed to go on our honeymoon the next day, but we couldn't find our tickets or passports. I searched and searched and then found them.

I was in a car with 2 or 3 girls. We went up this steep stone driveway to someone's house. Tim (my new husband) was there, but was distrustful. Tim Daly was there too. Someone was injured and we needed to get them help. We got back in the car and drove to the neighbor's house. It was the steepest stone driveway I had ever seen. It was almost a 90 degree angle and I just kept thinking when we went up both of those driveways that I was glad I didn't live there in the winter. We got in the house and it turned out it was the Roloffs, from the show, Little People, Big World. Amy Roloff and I sat down at her table and I told her how I looked up to her and what a wonderful mother she was. She was humble and said, oh, the girl on the show, yea, a lot of people say that, and she didn't want to take credit for anything. I asked her if I could see her house because I thought it was beautiful. It wasn't like it was on the show. It was ginormous with huge ceilings and a balcony on the second floor overlooking the first floor. The Roloffs didn't want company, they just wanted everyone to leave. Nobody else got that but me so I did my best to usher everyone out, but more people kept pouring in.

Then I got a page on my beeper and I tried calling the number back but I couldn't figure out how to read it because it went on for more then one screen. Tim (my new husband) was once again distrustful. It was a hospital calling. As I was trying to figure out how to make the call we walked into the hospital room where the doctor was sitting.

And that's how long my dreams have been lately - and that one is missing a bunch of detail - but that's what I can remember when I don't have the kids at home and I wake up a bunch in the morning expecting them to get up any minute or when I can take the time to digest my dream.

Sweet dreams all.

No Legs

Note: I can't read what's on the mannequin's torso, so if it's offensive - I apologize.

In the part of the dream I can remember (I had a light sleep night so a very long dream, but can't remember a lot of it) I had no legs. Other then that I was perfectly normal, doing normal things.

Eyelashes and Beds

So ever since I had Little One, I think my eyelashes have been shorter. When I was a little girl and someone came up to me, they inevitably said "My, what long lashes you have," or something to that effect. I never knew what to say. It's a part of my body that I had nothing to do with. It wasn't a talent. It was like talking about my skin color. Now that I'm older I know exactly what to say. "Why thank you." I love my eyelashes. I don't want them to be shorter. Also since Little One's been born, my eyes have been severely dry. It's painful when I wake up in the morning. It's like having sandpaper in my eye and it's highly unpleasant, to say the least.
So last night, I dreamed:
All I had to do was put a little mascara on and my eyelashes were back to the way that I remember them before I had Little One.
Very simple dream.
I also dreamed about beds for some reason, but I can't remember in what context.

Sound Bites

So I'm on pogo.com and I'm playing my favorite game, Spades, and I'm so tired and my eyes are closing little by little. Every time my eyes close, I have a mini-dream - I get a sound bite, clear as day for just one brief second. A person's voice - the sound of a diner - a baby crying. It's not the slow drum of my computer. It's got this tinny sound to it.

I need to go to bed. The dishes will wait in the dishwasher until morning. How rare.

Singing in a Club

So I was going to sing in a club. I wasn't a regular, but I had wanted to sing so they were going to let me. I was rehearsing the songs they gave me. Two songs that I didn't know the words or the music to. I was singing into a microphone. In the middle of the first song, they took the handheld microphone away and gave me a headset microphone. I realized that I wasn't very good and I told them that. I said that if I sang a song I knew it would be better. I chose two songs from Camp Wise because anyone who sings anything from Camp can sing it well. It's the rule of singing at a camp. They were two very specific songs (of course, upon awakening, they left my head and the only song left is "You've Got a Friend"). Anyway, they thought the songs sounded good enough for that evening.

I went to my dorm room and was hanging out with a friend and then I realized I was late for singing. When I got to the club I could only remember the first line of the song and I kept repeating it over and over.

Phone Jacks and Airplanes

I was at work. The phone lines were acting up. I asked Ben what was going on and noticed that my phone was totally dead. I had to thread my phone jack through a hole and then I touched Teresa's computer. As I touched it I was getting an electric shock. I was scared. I was calling to Ben for help. As it turns out - I was saying "help" in real life. I woke up scared. I said help a few times and then when Dave woke up it freaked me out. It's really hard to actually make yourself talk in your dream, but I was trying my hardest to yell and I actually got a word out. Still scary.

Switch to: I don't remember this dream as well right now. I know there was an airplane involved, but the back end of the airplane was attached to the front end of a camper. It was a scary dream with death undertones. I don't know if it was a race or contest, but I think it might have had that feeling to it. There was a small crowd of people, and they were all people that I knew. I know it's disjointed now, but I remembered it so clearly this morning. I hate that.

Camp and a Baby

I was going to Camp Wise. I had to walk about a quarter of a mile down this dirt road to get to where we needed to launch boats. I had to drag the boat with me and there was one other person who was doing the same thing. Then I went back up to the house where I then needed to walk to Camp. I couldn't believe I was going to be working there again and I was 36 years old. It felt odd, but then I remembered that Brent Weinstock was older and it didn't feel quite so odd anymore. I just hoped that I could still keep up with all the campers. I remember this feeling of pure excitement and joy. (Note: I ran into Jon Steiger last night and we were talking about the Shabbat dinners at Camp to mark the 100 year anniversary and the alumni weekend.)

Then, I was in a terminal of some kind - airport, bus station. I don't know. A friend had a baby but she couldn't take care of her. Amanda (who just had a baby on May 3rd) was going to take the baby, but I decided to take her for about a week until Amanda could get back on her feet. She had slept all night straight through and woke up crawling. She wasn't even hungry and I didn't change her. I started running around like a mad woman because I knew the baby was going to need to eat and I didn't have any formula for her. I didn't want to give her the $50 stuff because I didn't want her to get used to it. I found an old can of the Wal-Mart brand and was going to use it but someone was worried that it had been opened for a while and I figured that it hadn't been opened for more than the 6 months before you need to throw it out (which, if I did the math correctly, it would have been - but it wasn't in my dream) and I also figured she wouldn't eat more then a quarter ounce. Dave was showing Jason the difference between the $50 stuff and the cheaper stuff and Jason was amazed. Then I had to start looking for a bottle.

I woke up singining the Manamana song in my head and now I can't get it out.
